Artist's Description

Delilah is a sculpture using re-purposed acrylic paintings and found objects. This turtle on a log is inspired by utilizing instructional paintings from an art class that I teach. I have many paintings that don't meet my standards for selling to the public so I reuse them by creating distinctive sculptures of whimsical creatures. Most sculptures use about ten to twenty canvases cut up into whatever shape is necessary to build the piece. Many hours have been invested in cutting, sorting by color and applying each piece necessary to form the character. I love whimsy so this style of art allows me to play as well as pursue the unique. Be sure to look closely into the sculpture. You are likely to see a bird, flower, palm tree or something recognizable from one of my paintings. Happy hunting!
